Elisabeth Failey (Betsy) graduated with a B.S. in Biology from Davidson College (NC) in May 2006. In college she participated in various research projects examining the impact of land use change on herptofauna. She is first and second author on two published scientific papers resulting from this research. Betsy started working at the Center for Science and Technology Policy Research (CSTPR) at the University of Colorado Boulder as a temporary research assistant for Dr. Kevin Vranes in February of 2007. She and Dr. Vranes examined the stressors on the New York City Water Supply System and are writing a multiple stressors paper from their research. After six months, Betsy became a Professional Research Assistant at CSTPR. She spends most of her time researching Scales of Decision Making and the Carbon Cycle with Dr. Lisa Dilling, and in Janurary of 2008 started helping with Center Outreach and website maintenance. Starting in the Fall of 2008, Betsy will begin the graduate program in Environmental Studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder. She is planning on concentrating in environmental policy and applying for the dual MS/MBA. |
