Jessica Weinkle is a PhD student in the Environmental Studies Program with a secondary core in Policy. While working on her MA in Climate and Society at Columbia University she became interested in natural hazards, risk perception and the use of climate and weather forecasts in policy and society. Today, she studies the insurability of the hurricane risk with particular attention given to the use of science by different interests. Jessica did her undergraduate work in zoology at the University of Texas at Austin.
