Katie is currently pursuing her masters in Geography at the University of Colorado at Boulder, with a focus on natural resources in the American West. Katie received her BA in Environmental Studies from Macalester College, and after graduating, she moved to the western slope of Colorado guiding naturalist tours and working on environmental campaigns. She worked on environmental policy in Washington D.C. at the Center for Environmental Quality, and in the other Washington, her home state, on wilderness and river policy.

When not studying the West and its land and water resources, Katie can be found playing in them. She loves exploring the outdoors with friends, cooking and potlucks, and is always up for a new adventure.
