Robert Frodeman specializes in environmental philosophy and science policy. He has held positions at the University of Texas and the University of Tennessee, and has consulted for the US Geological Survey for the last ten years. He was the 2001-2002 Hennebach Professor of the Humanities at the Colorado School of Mines. Bob is Director of the New Directions Initiative, editor of Earth Matters: the Earth Sciences, Philosophy, and the Claims of Community (Prentice-Hall, 2000), and author of the Geo-Logic: Breaking Ground between Philosophy and the Earth Sciences (SUNY, 2003). Bob formerly directed the Center's Global Climate Change and Society Program, where students explored the nature of scientific knowledge and the contribution that social scientific and humanistic perspectives play in public policy debates. He currently serves as the Chair of the Department of Philosophy and Religion Studies at the University of North Texas.
