Shali Mohleji

Shali Mohleji (Ph.D., ENVS, 2011) recently took a position as Senior Advisor to the Under Secretary with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.  Previously she was a Senior Policy Fellow with the American Meteorological Society Policy Program. Her interest areas focus on science policy, including how scientists engage in the policy process and the culture of science, and natural disaster policy related to socioeconomic impacts, institutional dynamics, and governance. She received a Ph.D. degree in ENVS from the University of Colorado at Boulder.  Her dissertation is titled “Gaining from Losses: Using Disaster Loss Data as a Tool for Appraising Natural Disaster Policy.”
