Abstract: Spain is becoming the source of a number of scholarly achievements in the field of STS and Philosophy of Technology that run the gamut from analytic philosophy to postmodernist activism. These appear in publications that rival those of almost any other country and reflect the great diversity of modern Spain. Unfortunately, these achievements are often underappreciated by English-speaking readers. The present talk uses both geography and methodology to describe this emerging body of work.

Bio: Juan B. Bengoetxea is PhD. in Logic and Philosophy of Science (University of the Basque Country) and has a degree in Chemistry. He has published some books (Philosophy and Science: The Vienna Circle; Dogmas in Science? Bengoetxea is currently a visiting scholar at the Colorado School of Mines, where he is pursuing research in the philosophy of technology and science, technology, and society (STS) studies.
