International Groundwater Conference on Groundwater Dynamics and Global Change
March 11-14, 2008
ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
The role and importance of groundwater in the natural water cycle has become now more recognized with the increasing dependency on groundwater for many human activities. With increasing human interference with the water cycle the groundwater is at risk . The Groundwater resource facing increasing threat also due to climate variability and changes .The manifestation of the implications are at local to global level. Therefore in order to protect and sustain the groundwater resource the present conference is being proposed to understand the dynamics of the ground water under changing scenario and to address the challenges in groundwater use.
Hopefully, conference will present the more recent technological and scientific developments associated with the behavior of groundwater dynamics under changing local, regional and global scenario. Issues of groundwater quality, quantity, management and planning, as well as other related topics, are essential to the future of the world population. The conference will be an opportunity to bring together scholars, scientists, experts and researchers confronting end users from different user sectors , managers, decision makers and stakeholders from universities, institutes, agencies and authorities all over the world to discuss and develop a general frame work for optimizing groundwater management and control for sustainable development. Various national and international active individuals and institutions of imminence have shown interest in the conference and may be an active partners too in making this conference to achieve its objective.
CALL FOR PAPER
Papers are invited for the above themes. All abstracts not exceeding 300 words (submission should be only by e-mail) should reach Professor A. K. Sinha, Convener (GWC-2008), on or before August 31st , 2007. Acceptance will be communicated by September 30, 2007. Authors will have to submit full manuscript of the paper(s) (with original figures, if any) to the Conference Secretariat by December 15, 2007. Necessary instructions regarding preparation of the manuscript(s) will be sent along with the acceptance and author(s) are requested to submit the final text in electronic form ( email and CD or 3.5” floppy) and mail to:
