Biography: Lisa Dilling, an assistant professor in Environmental Studies, received her Ph.D. in biology from the University of California-Santa Barbara. She developed a program in integrated carbon cycle research for the Climate and Global Change Program of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and also helped to develop a national interagency program to study the integrated carbon cycle that links together relevant research in 6 Federal agencies for the U.S. Global Change Research Program (now the U.S. Climate Change Science Program). She spent two years as a scientist with the Environmental and Societal Impacts group of the National Center for Atmospheric Research. Her research at the Center focuses on the use of information in decision making related to climate and, in particular, the carbon cycle.
