Photo of Deane LittleDeane Little, Chairman and Chief Scientific Officer of New Sky, will give a talk "Profitable Air Capture of CO2" on Wednesday, January 28, 2009. The talk will be from 12:00 - 1:00 pm in the CSTPR Conference Room.

The talk is free and open to the public and will be held at the Center for Science and Technology Policy Research's conference room. Click here for directions.

Abstract: New Sky Energy is a Boulder-based clean technology company whose mission is to develop carbon negative energy and manufacturing strategies. The company's primary technology converts renewable electricity into carbon neutral fuel and other commodity chemicals, and simultaneously traps CO2 from the air or gas streams. Captured CO2 may be converted into a variety of carbon-based products, including building materials, polymers, fuels, fertilizer, and consumer goods. At current bulk prices the financial value of these carbon negative products appears to easily exceed the energy and capital costs of trapping CO2 and producing renewable fuel.

Biography: Deane Little is Chairman and Chief Scientific Officer of New Sky Energy. Dr. Little holds bachelors and masters degrees in Biology and a PhD in Molecular Biophysics. His PhD research, conducted at DOE's Oak Ridge National Lab, focused on groundwater bacteria that degrade trichloroethylene (TCE) and other chlorinated solvents.  He conducted post-doctoral research at the US EPA and Stanford Medical School.
