Beth Osnes Participating in the Earth Summit Rio+20 ConferenceJune 2012 Earth Summit 2012 in Rio this June will be the fourth Summit of its kind and represents another milestone in ongoing international efforts to accelerate progress towards achieving sustainable development globally. Beth Osnes will be there representing Inside the Greenhouse and conducting research for her upcoming book, Theatre for Gender Equity in Sustainable Development. In addition to the extensive programming planned for this sprawling conference, Beth will be attending and assisting the Partnership Forum event on "Partnerships for Advancing Gender Equality and Sustainability", Thursday, 21 June 2012. This event has been designed as an innovative session to showcase the value of partnerships in mainstreaming gender in critical thematic issues at Rio+20 - jobs, energy, cities, food, water, oceans, disasters and forests. Congratulations to Cody Nahmensen, Josh Miller, Christopher Hipp, Sean Spiller, and Brian Carpenter for their project 'Fossil Food'. Runner up was 'EnviroHunterist' by Kevin Rechkoff, Emily Coppage, Kiley McInroy, and Kalee Salazar. Third place went to 'El Verde' by Eric Cowan, Dave Martland, Johnny Mabie, and Courtney Rosenburg. |
