The Boulder StandThe Boulder Stand provides news, commentary and analysis on the environment, and is run primarily by students at the University of Colorado-Boulder. Climate Science TVClimateScience.tv's goal is to present the complete story of the global endeavor to understand and predict climate and environmental change. Through original content and archival footage, they seek to create a visual library of the past, present, and future of climate science, to ensure that these records are free and easily accessible, to break down barriers to the visual documentation of climate science research, and to increase the understanding and appreciation of climate science throughout the world. The Daily ClimateThe Daily Climate works to increase public understanding of climate disruption, including its scope and scale, potential solutions and the political processes that impede or advance them. The Daily Climate does not espouse a political point of view on the news but instead reports the truth to the best of their ability. Editorial integrity is the foundation of their mission. The Project for Excellence in JournalismThe Pew Research Center's Project for Excellence in Journalism is dedicated to trying to understand the information revolution. They specialize in using empirical methods to evaluate and study the performance of the press, particularly content analysis. They are non partisan, non ideological and non political. Their goal is to help both the journalists who produce the news and the citizens who consume it develop a better understanding of what the press is delivering, how the media are changing, and what forces are shaping those changes. They have emphasized empirical research in the belief that quantifying what is occurring in the press, rather than merely offering criticism, is a better approach to understanding. Striking the MatchStriking the Match is an initiative housed in the Department of Theatre & Dance at the University of Colorado in partnership with the Philanthropiece Foundation that uses performance to ignite positive social change. Striking the Match is a web-performance site hosting many brief solo performances by Beth Osnes (Assistant Professor of Theatre at CU), many humorous or quirky, each illuminating a fresh perspective on a social issues and linked to an organization working on the issues to connect viewers to action. Original funding for this project is from the Boulder Arts Commission. |
