"Last year, Bastardi forecast that the East Coast would be far more likely than the eastern and central Gulf to see hurricane activity, and indeed, most of 2006’s ten storms tracked farther east than in 2005—including Ernesto, which caused a half-billion dollars in damages in the region from North Carolina to New Jersey." Wow! So Bastardi was right afterall. Silly us for thinking his forecast stunk. How can anyone take this company seriously??? In it we find all sorts of interesting "predictions" "The U.S. Gulf Coast, which is still rebuilding almost two years after Hurricane Katrina, faces a renewed threat of powerful storms this year, private forecaster AccuWeather said on Tuesday." Gee that is good to know. I guess there are some years when the Gulf doesn't face such a threat???? "Bastardi also predicted the U.S. Northeast would likely be a target for strong storms for the next 10 years." Ha! I can beat Bastardi here. I boldly predict that the Northeast will be a target for strong storms for the next 10,000 years. Top that. I go on like this for a while http://iconicmidwest.blogspot.com/2007/03/i-predict-prediction-wont-actually.html Yeah, I saw this from this Reuters article here http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070327/ts_nm/usa_weather_forecast_accuweather_dc .

Takes a lot of moxie to put this stuff out after their forecast last year! I especially like the “dodge the bullet” comment.
