Aubra is a postdoctoral researcher at the C.U. Center for Astrophysics and Space Astronomy. Her current research involves searching for polarization of the cosmic microwave background radiation with the POLARBEAR experiment, with the hope of learning more about the conditions present in our universe immediately following the Big Bang. Aubra received her Ph.D. in particle physics from the University of Texas at Austin, working with the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory. Her interests have evolved over time to encompass not only the questions addressed via the traditional physics and cosmology research track, but also the broader questions of what science's role in public policy should be (and vice versa), and how we can optimize the exchange of information between scientists and the general public.
