Workshop Goals

  1. To develop principles, criteria, and guidelines that can help policy- and decision-makers determine:

    • how, when, and if to call upon predictive research as a tool to help resolve environmental policy problems, and
    • how to interpret and use predictions to achieve policy goals and make better decisions.

  2. To develop more systematic understanding of the use (and misuse) of scientific prediction in policy- and decision-making.
