Meaghan Daly

Meaghan Daly is an Assistant Professor in Environmental Studies at University of New England. She has a B.A. in Environmental Science from Colorado College, an M.A. in Climate and Society from Columbia University, and a Ph.D. in Environmental Studies from the University of Colorado Boulder. Before joining the Department of Environmental Studies, Meaghan was a Research Fellow at the Centre for Climate Change Economics and Policy at the University of Leeds in England. She was previously a Research Fellow at the Center for International Climate and Environmental Research (CICERO) in Oslo, Norway. Meaghan's teaching interests include climate change adaptation, science policy, science and technology studies, political ecology, and social science methods. She currently teaches Introduction to Environmental Issues, Society, Population, & Environment: A Global Perspective, and Climate Change Adaptation: Planning & Policy. Meaghan's research focuses broadly on the interactions between science and society, with a particular interest in the production and use of knowledge to inform climate change adaptation decision-making, planning, and policy. She has carried out much of her research in Tanzania and East Africa, where she has examined the co-production of climate knowledge for decision-making across multiple institutional scales. While at the University of Leeds, she conducted research examining the role of stakeholders and user engagement within the production of seasonal climate forecasts as part of Regional Climate Outlook Forums (RCOFs) in South Asia, Southern Africa, and the Mediterranean region. Meaghan was also part of a NOAA-funded project based at the University of Colorado examining the interactions between drought response and adaptive capacity to climate change within urban water systems in the U.S. |
